This buffer assembly is constructed of a quality aluminum housing with steel recoil components inside and is an OEM Smith & Wesson component. The buffer assembly is designed for M&P10, M&P15-300 Whisper & M&P15 rifle models from Smith & Wesson chambered in .223 Rem, 5.56x45mm, .308 Win, 7.62x51mm, & .300 Whisper respectively. The buffer assembly is inserted into the front end of the buffer spring and provides a smooth method of recoil reduction as the rifle cycles and disperses the recoil into the buffer system.
